This course is for anyone who feels the call to Kirtan – whether you’re a complete beginner, a shower singer, a musician, or someone who simply wants to open their heart through sacred sound.
If you’ve ever wanted to lead a Kirtan, play harmonium/mridanga or kartals, deepen your connection to mantra, or just learn how to sing from a place of devotion, this is for you.
You don’t need any musical experience – just a willing heart and an openness to discovering how your voice can be an instrument of love and connection.
Not at all! This training is not about performance – it’s about presence
If you’ve never touched a harmonium or mridanga before, don’t worry! You’ll be guided step by step, with practical techniques, simple melodies, and hands-on support to help you gain confidence in your voice and playing.
If you do have musical experience, this course will deepen your understanding of Kirtan as a spiritual practice, showing you how to sing and play with devotional feeling rather than just technical skill.
This is more than a music course – it’s an immersion into the heart of Kirtan.
You’ll learn:
🎶 How to play harmonium and mridanga (even if you’ve never touched one before!)
🎶 The basics of melody & rhythm to confidently lead or participate in Kirtan
🎶 How to use your voice as a sacred instrument – singing from the heart, not the head
🎶 The meaning behind the mantras, so you’re not just chanting words, but truly connecting with them
🎶 How to hold space in Kirtan, creating an atmosphere that lifts and inspires
🎶 The deeper philosophy of Bhakti & Kirtan, learning from the Bhagavad Gita & Bhakti texts
By the end, you won’t just know Kirtan – you’ll feel it, and carry it with you as a lifelong practice.
Beyond the live sessions, this course offers 36 hours of non-contact learning materials to help you deepen your practice at your own pace. Everything is stored on an interactive whatsapp community channel, where you can ask questions, share insights, and connect with fellow students throughout your journey.
Your self-study hours include:
🎶 Weekly theory worksheets to reinforce key concepts
🎶 Instrument practice assignments to help you build confidence and skill
